Founded in 1984 as a venture company specializing in software development for embedded devices, the company was convinced that Internet technology would change the world and began research and development on “NetFront,” a browser for small information devices. In 1999, it was adopted by NTT DoCoMo’s mobile Internet service “i-mode,” making it possible for anyone to connect to the Internet via their mobile phone from anywhere. ACCESS’s browser was indispensable to the creation of this world-first service.
Building on this success, the company further expanded its business scope. While broadening the range of devices equipped with embedded browsers—such as TVs and in-vehicle information systems like car navigation systems—the company also entered the global market. Our technology is also used in the “d-button” found on the TVs you use at home. Entering the 2010s, we expanded our capabilities in technologies such as cloud computing, smart devices, wireless communications, and sensors, and we are steadily advancing the deployment of solutions in the IoT field.
